San Mateo, Calif. (PRWEB) October 10, 2016 -- Death is a fact of life that people learn at an early age, but often try to ignore or delay through medicine and technology. In “Choosing How We Die,” June W. Lamb shares the stories of four terminally ill patients who chose to forgo treatments that would extend their lives.
Lamb, a family therapist, provides an informative look into the individual’s choice of how to die. Her purpose with this book is to make death a more comfortable topic of discussion which includes the family system.
“We are all terminal,” said Lamb. “Choosing how to die when terminally ill is a personal decision. In the end, we all want to maintain our dignity and have our final wishes implemented.”
Instead of focusing on theories and data, Lamb shares real-life experiences from dying patients and the reactions of their families in order to give readers a frame of reference for accepting death and being at peace with it.
“Choosing How We Die” is a useful resource to inform the public of the choices available when facing the inevitability of death.
