The Valhalla Inn Thunder Bay Hotel Announces Renovations and Updates to Popular Restaurants Located at the Hotel
THUNDER BAY, ON (PRWEB) July 10, 2013 -- A leader among hotels in Thunder Bay, The Valhalla Inn announced today the restoration plans for its Timbers restaurant that was damaged by fire on January 3, 2013 as well as renovation plans for the popular Runway 25 Steaklounge also located on property.
Renovation plans have been finalized and construction is now underway on a completely new interior for the upscale Runway 25 Steaklounge including a new aviation themed décor utilizing various metal and wood finishes. The more casual and family-friendly Timbers restaurant will be relocated into the existing space where Runway 25 Steaklounge is currently located. Renovation plans include an update to the existing lounge and a new intimate lounge in Runway 25 Steaklounge.
“This is a major renovation project for the Valhalla Inn,” says General Manager Mary McLellan. “Timbers restaurant has been a cornerstone for both our hotel and for the community of Thunder Bay since 1990.”
The restaurant restoration plans come on the heels of a major investment and renovation to two-thirds of the 262 guestrooms at the Valhalla Inn. The newly improved Thunder Bay accommodations feature new in-room carpet, bedding, furniture and wall coverings were completed last year. The remainder of the guestroom renovations will be completed within the next 12 months. The Valhalla Inn, a popular location for weddings in Thunder Bay, has also undergone extensive improvements to the Ballroom and event space including; new carpet, drapes and updated audio/visual and sound system equipment for meetings, conventions, and other events.
The fully renovated Runway 25 Steaklounge and Timbers restaurants are expected to re-open in the Fall of 2013. In the interim, both restaurants are operating from a shared space in the hotel and continue to welcome guests with full menu offerings including the popular Sunday Brunch, and outdoor courtyard dining. When complete, the newly rejuvenated restaurants will bring a fresh Thunder Bay dining experience to hotel guests and locals alike.
