The Wans Chosen to Record Next EP With Grammy Award Winning Producer, Vance Powell
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) April 09, 2015 -- RedGorilla Music Fest partnered with music discovery platform, Muzooka, to give one band the opportunity to record a five song EP for free with Grammy Award winning producer Vance Powell. Powell, best known for his work with Jack White, checked out artists during the six day long event in Austin and came across Nashville rock trio, The Wans. Powell was so impressed with the band's live show and their recorded music, which he heard via Muzooka, that he picked them to work with from the hundreds of other RedGorilla artists who had uploaded their music to the platform and were vying for the opportunity.
“I’m excited to be working with The Wans and think this will be a great fit,” said Powell. "Making a living playing music is hard these days, and I’m happy to help them continue to do that and make great art... or at least something that sounds great when turned up loud in your car on the way to their show.”
Formed in 2012 when Simon Kerr and Thomas Bragg were introduced by their ex-girlfriends, The Wans have spent the last three years touring tirelessly and waving the flag for old school rock and roll. When they're not working day jobs, they're writing and hitting the road, playing festivals like Hangout and Austin City Limits as well as the small, dark, bread-and-butter rock clubs known to all touring bands.
"There aren't that many really great rock bands making headlines these days," says Kerr. "We want to bring back the straightforward rock and roll we all loved growing up.”
