The Wright Guide to Low Cost Campgrounds is Perfect for Frugal Campers and RV'ers
Bristol, Indiana (PRWEB) July 29, 2015 -- America's only camping guidebook that focuses entirely on free and low-cost campgrounds has been totally revised, reformatted and updated and now features a new name.
Now in its 15th Edition since it was first published in 1980, its new title is "The Wright Guide to Free and Low-Cost Campgrounds". Reformatted to an easy-to-handle 6x9-inch size from its historic 8x11-inch size, the 864-page book contains expanded details about more than 10,000 public campgrounds in America with overnight camping fees of $12 or less. The book's previous title was "Don Wright's Guide to Free Campgrounds".
Although Wright is still author of the guidebook, he said its title was changed to one that more accurately reflects the guidebook's new direction. Cottage Publications, Inc. -- the company that has published the book for 28 years has passed down to the second generation of Wrights and the change to its name The Wright Guide reflects that first step.
With campgrounds listed alphabetically by state and nearby city, the book features state maps pinpointing campground locations. State chapter texts with numbered locations matching the maps describe each campground, providing detailed driving directions and the full array of camping fees available. Available amenities are listed, including flush or pit toilets, drinking water, showers, playgrounds, RV hookups, dump stations and campfire grill areas. Each listing describes recreational facilities available: Fishing, boating, boat ramps, trails, interpretive programs and other activities. Reduced camping fees available to older Americans with "America the Beautiful" senior passes (formerly called Golden Age Passports) are specified within all federal campgrounds.
“Tent-only campgrounds, such as boat-in or hike-in sites, are no longer included in the book because the publications’ historic appeal has been overwhelming to RV travelers,” Wright commented.
A wide variety of campgrounds are included in the book such as: National forest sites, low-fee state parks, national parks, Corps of Engineers sites, Bureau of Land Management campgrounds, Bureau of Reclamation sites, designated national recreation areas (NRAs) and national scenic areas, national monuments, state forests and recreation areas, national lakeshore and seashore campgrounds, lumber company and utility company sites, city and county parks with camping, county conservation areas, township parks, local natural resources districts offering camping, Native American campgrounds, state fishing access sites with camping, state wildlife management areas, state multiple use areas with camping, state lakeside use areas, wildlife refuges with campsites, national scenic river campsites, national grasslands sites, fairgrounds campsites, local chamber of commerce sites, water preservation district recreation areas, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) campgrounds, and even small mom-and-pop private campgrounds with low fees.
The 15th Edition is available widely from bookstores, RV dealerships, online web sites, camping supply outlets and from the publisher at 844-RVBOOKS or http://www.rverbookstore.com The book's cover price is $21.95
