Ned Berger, along with his family, had owned the business since 1938, maintaining a reputation in the community for honesty and integrity. The Young Family plans to carry on those same principles.
The new dealership will be called Young Chevrolet, Buick, GMC of Ionia. This investment marks the eighth dealership for the Young Automotive Group, which includes stores in Owosso, Vassar, Frankenmuth, Lansing and Jackson. The fifth-generation family-owned business has employed over 500 people in the region. It has also grossed an impressive amount of car sales throughout the years. In the last year, the Young Automotive family of dealerships sold over 9,600 new and used vehicles. With the acquisition of Berger Motor Sales, The Young Family plans to further solidify its involvement in the local community by providing more opportunities for both the residents and local organizations.
