TheBrideDesign.com’s Tips for Saving Money on Alcohol at Receptions
Boston, MA (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- Wedding receptions are known for two things: alcohol and food. Both of these reception mainstays can be quite costly if not carefully managed. Apartment Therapy posted an article on June 19, 2013, on how to create a drink for a reception, and TheBrideDesign.com is taking this article as a basis for giving brides tips on saving money on the bar tab at receptions.
From custom bridal favors to reception décor to reception décor, weddings are a huge investment. For most people, the change in their pocket or from the couch cushion isn’t going to cut it. Many couples have trouble paying for everything they’d like to have at their wedding, and having an open bar complete with different kinds of liquor is no different. There are a few things that bridal couples and party planners can do, however, to save money on the alcohol tab:
1. Find a BYO Location
Some wedding locations allow bridal couples to bring their own alcohol to a reception. This gives the couple a chance to purchase their bar supplies in bulk from a warehouse store, which may save hundreds of dollars over an onsite bar.
2. Get a Per-Person Contract
If a per-person contract is available, opt for it. Paying on a per-person basis will most likely save money over a per-drink fee, especially if the couple has friends who will enjoy more than a few drinks at the reception.
3. Create a Custom Bar
Bridal couples are now embracing a new trend: creating a custom drink for their wedding reception. Usually, the couple will collaborate with a bartender to create a drink that they enjoy to be offered alongside a few wines and beers. This keeps the overall price down and creates an intimate DIY feel at the reception.
TheBrideDesign.com gives brides and party planners tips for saving money on the bar tab at a reception. This includes finding a location that allows the couple to bring their own alcohol, having a per-person price, and creating a custom drink.
