Then and Now: A Dialogue of the Past, Present, and Future.
Davis, CA (PRWEB) August 25, 2015 -- Myron Stephens will exhibit his most recent work at the John Natsoulas Gallery starting September 3rd until October 3rd with an opening reception on Saturday, September 12.
Myron Stephens' work is a reflection of his enjoyment of life. His pieces are inspired by his own day to day life as well as conversations and experiences he has had with his wife and friends. Stephens believes that the process of painting the subject, rather than the subject itself, is the most important aspect of his work. "My work is not conceived and then simply painted, but it is more of a process. It is a dialogue of past, present, and future."
His use of American iconography and universal themes and images makes each piece seem like a personal memory to the viewer. Mature themes contrasted with playful components in Stephens' uniquely hyper-realistic pieces present a fun, edgy, and poignant aesthetic. He uses words that appear like chalk on a chalkboard to supplement the playful themes of each piece.
Stephens has a wide variety of work ranging from baroque to surreal to rural and urban landscapes.
