Thermoflect® Heat Reflective Technology® Program from Encompass Group, LLC Awarded AORN Seal of Recognition™
McDonough, GA (PRWEB) March 26, 2014 -- The Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) has awarded the AORN Seal of Recognition™ to the Thermoflect® Heat Reflective Technology® Recommended Practice Program from Encompass Group, LLC.
According to Lisa Spruce, DNP, RN, ACNS, ACNP, ANP, CNOR, director, Evidence-Based Perioperative Practice, AORN, the AORN Seal of Recognition assures Encompass Group Thermoflect® Heat Reflective Technology® training products have undergone thorough review by AORN and provide a set of tools, education, and guidance to maintain perioperative normothermia that align with AORN Recommended Practices for the Prevention of Unplanned Perioperative Hypothermia. AORN recommendations include implementing passive thermal care measures preoperatively. According to evidence-based practices, prewarming for a minimum of 15 to 30 minutes, also known as banking heat, can minimize the impact of redistribution temperature drop (RTD).
While not an endorsement, the Seal of Recognition is confirmation that Thermoflect® Heat Reflective Technology® training materials meet AORN guidelines. “The approval of our program helps to educate caregivers on selecting the best patient-focused warming strategy or combination of strategies.
