Think Beyond the Label Partners with Top Employers as New U.S. Department of Labor Disability Hiring Requirements Take Effect

Think Beyond the Label is helping employers like the Internal Revenue Service, Qualcomm, Quest Diagnostics, Wells Fargo, KPMG and many others meet the new disability hiring requirements through a series of disability recruiting tools, including its online career fairs, online business training and one-on-one consultation from Think Beyond the Label experts.
New Section 503 requirements
In August 2013, the U.S. Department of Labor set a hiring goal for federal contractors and subcontractors that 7 percent of each job group in their workforce be qualified individuals with disabilities. These new requirements go into effect today, and employers will need to begin showing evidence that they are taking proactive steps to recruit workers with disabilities. Think Beyond the Label’s online recruiting and training events help employers understand and meet these new requirements.

Free for all employers, Think Beyond the Label’s “Best Practices in Disability Hiring” webinars have been attended by many of the nation’s top employers, including UPS, Xerox and Verizon. Think Beyond the Label will host a number of these webinars in 2014.
The webinars are approved for one general credit hour toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute. Participating employers learn how to comply with the new regulations, how to find and engage qualified job seekers with disabilities, how to showcase diversity hiring initiatives to enhance employer brands, meet Section 503 compliance requirements and gain access to ongoing consultation and support from Think Beyond the Label experts.
