Third Wave Business Systems Successfully Implements SAP Business One for New York Genome Center
Wayne, NJ (PRWEB) January 21, 2014 -- Third Wave Business Systems, a leading SAP Business One implementation and development partner, today announced the implementation of SAP Business One for the New York Genome Center (NYGC), an independent, non-profit organization that leverages the collaborative resources of leading academic medical centers and research universities, as well as pharmaceutical, biotech, and technology companies. NYGC seeks to transform medical research and patient care in New York and beyond through the creation of one of the largest genomics research facilities in North America, integrating sequencing, bioinformatics, and data management.
In the past 18 months NYGC has experienced substantial growth, building out 170,000 square feet of laboratory and office space in downtown New York City, doubled its work force to its current 50 people, and begun providing sequencing and bioinformatics services to research institutions in the New York region and beyond. NYGC selected SAP Business One as their ERP system because of its features, functionality, and cost. They then turned to Third Wave to implement SAP Business One because of the company’s extensive experience, strong reputation in the SAP community, and development of their own certified SAP add-ons.
“When we made the decision to move forward with SAP Business One, we needed to find an implementation partner who understood our unique business needs and had the right background to take on this project. Third Wave impressed us with their experience and methodology. They delivered the solution we needed in the time frame we wanted,” said Chris Duignan, NYGC’s Controller.
When implementing SAP Business One for NYGC, Third Wave had to address several critical business needs. These included the ability to create financial statements for external and internal reporting requirements and manage day-to-day financial operations with the control and flexibility required for a growing business. NYGC also needed an ERP system that could track sequencing jobs, philanthropy opportunities, and an expanding faculty budget.
The implementation included the following add-on modules: Third Wave’s Advanced Productivity Pack, Third Wave’s Project Accounting Suite, and BOARD’s financial consolidation and budgeting solution. By selecting these add-ons, Third Wave was able to complete the project on time and within budget because they didn’t have to build customized solutions from the ground up.
“We were excited to work on this project and help NYGC achieve their objectives with this implementation. They selected a feature-rich solution that is scalable to meet their needs today and in the future,” added Korey Lind, Third Wave’s CEO.
