Jeffrey Ammons is a Member in the firm’s Troy office. He advises local and intermediate school boards of education, college and university boards of trustees, public school academy boards of directors and other public and private educational entities on various matters. He also develops and implements estate plans for the management and transfer of assets during life and at death in ways that avoid unnecessary taxation, preserve privacy and protect loved ones. Mr. Ammons is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Michigan Council of School Attorneys. He is recognized as a Michigan Super Lawyer “Rising Star”. Mr. Ammons received his B.A. from the University of Michigan, his M.A. from Wheaton College Graduate School, and his J.D. from the Michigan State University College of Law.
Jonathan Batchelor is a Member in Dickinson Wright’s Phoenix office where he represents clients in intellectual property and litigation matters. He specializes in trademark and class action litigation. He represents major technology firms and retailers in trademark matters, major commercial litigation and regulatory matters. He has defended large financial institutions and insurance clients against putative class action claims and actions from the FDIC and other regulatory authorities. He represents clients nationwide before federal and state trial and appellate courts, the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, and arbitration tribunals. He also assists clients with matters related to unmanned vehicle regulation and litigation arising out of the use of unmanned vehicles. He is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), and a former editor of Jurimetrics: the Journal of Law, Science and Technology. Mr. Batchelor received his B.S. from Brigham Young University and his J.D. from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law.
Aaron Burrell is a Member in the firm’s Detroit office. He focuses his practice in the areas of appellate, commercial & business litigation, labor & employment, and minority business enterprises. He has successfully defended clients in a wide range of discrimination and unfair labor practice claims in state and federal court. He has also counseled clients on all aspects of the employment relationship including hiring, discipline, and the creation and enforcement of employment agreements. Mr. Burrell is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association’s Board of Directors and is the Immediate Past President of the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association. He is a member of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, the Wolverine Bar Association, the National Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Mr. Burrell received his B.A. from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from the Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Ted Citrome is a Partner in the firm’s Toronto office. He focuses his practice on all aspects of Canadian taxation law, with a particular emphasis on the taxation of acquisitions/divestures, reorganizations and corporate finance. He has acted on many significant transactions across several industries, including manufacturing, automotive, mining, real estate, and technology. He also has extensive experience advising multinational groups on structuring their Canadian operations and investments in a tax-efficient manner. Mr. Citrome is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Canadian Tax Foundation. He received his B.B.A. from Wilfrid Laurier University and his J.D./M.B.A. from the University of Toronto. Mr. Citrome was called to the Bar in 2002.
David Ferrucci is a Member in Dickinson Wright’s Phoenix office. He focuses his practice on commercial litigation, intellectual property law, First Amendment/media litigation, and appellate advocacy. He represents clients in matters involving breach of contract claims, unfair competition claims, racketeering defense, defamation and libel defense, and various intellectual property matters, including trademark and trade dress infringement claims. Mr. Ferrucci has a national media and First Amendment litigation practice, having litigated claims on behalf of individuals and entities in Georgia, Illinois, and Arizona. He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona and is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Arizona; the United States District Court, District of Arizona; and the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. Mr. Ferrucci received his B.A. from The Pennsylvania State University, his M.A. from the University of Missouri School of Journalism, and his J.D. from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law.
Ted Kalnins is a Partner in the firm’s Toronto office. He has a broad commercial litigation practice which includes breach of contract disputes, franchise disputes, intellectual property disputes, employment law disputes, product liability claims, shareholder disputes, real estate disputes, and debt collection. His employment law practice includes litigation concerning wrongful dismissal claims, human rights violations, and breaches of non-solicitation, non-competition and confidentiality agreements. Mr. Kalnins has also prosecuted and defended claims of professional negligence against accountants, financial advisors and medical professionals. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, The Advocates’ Society, and the American Bar Association’s Forum on Franchising. Mr. Kalnins received his B.A. from The Ohio State University and his LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario. He was called to the Bar in 2005.
Var Lordahl is a Member in the firm’s Las Vegas office. He focuses his practice in trusts and estates and taxation. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Foundation for an Independent Tomorrow (FIT). Mr. Lordahl received his B.S. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law, and his LL.M. in Taxation from the New York University School of Law.
Eric McGlothlin is a Member and a public finance attorney in the firm’s Troy office. As bond counsel, he advises municipalities, schools and other governmental entities, underwriters and conduit borrowers on the issuance of tax-exempt and taxable debt to finance all types of long and short-term capital needs. He helps his clients find the right legal structure, authorize financings and comply with federal and state tax and securities laws. Mr. McGlothlin is instrumental as underwriter’s counsel, where he guides underwriters through disclosure and related federal securities law matters, assists with due diligence, drafts bond purchase agreements and offering documents, and reviews transaction documentation to ensure the proper protections are in place for his clients. He also has extensive experience advising municipal government and schools on all practical and legal matters affecting daily municipal operations including open meetings and public records, procurement law, elections, including millage and other ballot proposals, and utility matters. Mr. McGlothlin is a member of the Michigan Government Finance Officers Association and the National Association of Bond Lawyers. He received his B.A. from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center.
Erin Pawlowski is a Member in Dickinson Wright’s Troy office. She focuses her practice in complex business litigation, as well as intellectual property and trade secrets litigation. In addition to substantial experience handling high-stakes litigation matters, Ms. Pawlowski frequently counsels corporate clients regarding business transactions, employment-related disputes, protection of intellectual property and trade secrets, corporate governance and shareholder relations, licensing and regulatory matters, and litigation-avoidance strategies. Ms. Pawlowski has been recognized as a Michigan Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in 2015 and 2016. Ms. Pawlowski is a member and Fellow of the Oakland County Bar Association and a member of the Federal Bar Association. Dan Phillips is a Member in the firm’s Detroit office. He focuses his practice on commercial and business litigation, automotive litigation, and financial services litigation. He serves as counsel to a wide range of clients on issues relative to contract disputes, sale of goods under the Uniform Commercial Code, business tort claims, noncompetition agreements, and mortgage recourse litigation. He has represented both small and Fortune 500 companies in state and federal courts throughout Michigan, New Mexico, and Illinois, and in a wide variety of alternative dispute resolution forums. Mr. Phillips is a Board Member of the Detroit Bar Association’s Barristers Board, and serves on the State Bar of Michigan’s Character and Fitness Committee (District H). Vishnu Ramaswamy is a Member in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He focuses his practice on intellectual property, including all aspects of patent procurement, strategy, and licensing. He counsels several Fortune 500 companies (US and global) through all facets of patent procurement and strategy. He manages patent portfolios both domestically and internationally in a wide area of technologies, including electronics, software, and mechanical/electromechanical technologies. He provides counseling with regards to all patent related issues regarding acquisitions, investments, and defense against asserting parties. Mr. Ramaswamy is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, Berkeley Alumni Association, Asian Pacific American Bar Association, and the South Asian Bar Association. Mr. Ramaswamy also serves on Dickinson Wright’s diversity committee. He received his B.S. in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California, Berkeley, and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.
Ryan Shannon is a Member in the firm’s Lansing office. He focuses his practice on administrative & regulatory matters as well as appellate litigation. On behalf of multiple insurance and financial industry clients, he has drafted legislative amendments to the Michigan Insurance Code and other insurance laws. He regularly appears before the Michigan Tax Tribunal and has argued successfully on multiple occasions before the Michigan Court of Appeals. Mr. Shannon is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is recognized as a Michigan Super Lawyer “Rising Star.” He received his B.A. from Michigan State University and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
Dana Ulrich is a Member in the firm’s Troy office. She focuses her practice on corporate law, corporate finance, corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, private equity, and securities law. She is counsel to various publicly-traded and closely-held parties in connection with their mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, divestitures, spin-offs, and recapitalizations. She is counsel to numerous corporate and partnership clients in connection with corporate governance, commercial contracting, regulatory, licensing and employment matters.
