This Coming Weekend, Ride, Shop, Tour the Crapemyrtle Trail and Cowboy up in Duncan, Oklahoma, the Heart of the Chisholm Trail
Duncan, OK (PRWEB) July 22, 2015 -- Duncan will have a wide variety of events happening in the city on Saturday, July 25, with at least one, if not all, to surely pique your interest. Locals in town, as well as visitors coming to visit Duncan, will have the opportunity to experience them all and have a great time doing so. Duncan will be bustling with activities for the National Day of the Cowboy, The Dehydrator, the 21st Annual Water Pond Tour, and the 2 Hip Chicks Roadshow.
Continually ranked as one of the top rides in Oklahoma, The Dehydrator will take place on Saturday, July 25 at the Simmons Center in Duncan, OK. The Dehydrator is an annual ride hosted by the Duncan Band Boosters and Duncan Bicycle Club and offers non-competitive rides that include distances from 10 to 80 miles. The Dehydrator will be based at the Simmons Center in Duncan with showers, pool, sauna, and more for the participating riders. The annual National Day of the Cowboy will kick off at 10:00 AM on Saturday at the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center in Duncan, OK. This year's theme will focus on the Singing Cowboy, with music from Allen Wooten and The Cowboys at Heart Band from Comanche, OK. The band will be performing well known and loved cowboy and country music. Glenda Carlile will also be on site to sign and read from her novel, "The Year of the Turnip." This will be a great family event, as the children who attend will have art projects and more throughout the day to keep them excited and entertained. Admission is free for all ages. The event will take place from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
2 Hip Chicks Roadshow will welcome a wide array of vendors, where you will find anything from repurposed furniture to boutique items, jewelry to metal art, and everything in between. This event is sure to be shopping heaven, with fun treasures to be discovered.
The 2 Hip Chicks Roadshow will take place at the Stephens County Fair & Expo Center in Duncan, OK, on Saturday, July 25 from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Admission is $4.00 per person, with any child under the age of 13 admitted for free.
The 21st Annual Water Garden Pond Tour will be on July 25 from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. This year, the pond tour will cover over half a dozen ponds throughout southwest Oklahoma in Duncan, Comanche, and Lawton. The tour is sponsored annually by the Water Garden Society of Southern Oklahoma. Admission is free and welcomes all with an interest in backyard gardening.
