Thomas County, Neb., Begins E-recording with Simplifile
THOMAS COUNTY, Neb. (PRWEB) April 29, 2015 -- Electronic recording (e-recording) in Thomas County is now available through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service, enabling faster recording of land documents and records.
“E-recording is cost effective and it saves money on postage to return the documents,” said Thomas County Clerk Lorissa Hartman.
Previously, customers’ recording options were limited to manually sending documents by mail or driving to the clerk’s office to record in person.
Using Simplifile’s online recording service, customers including title companies, banks, attorneys, and lien filers can scan or upload and electronically submit documents to the clerk’s office for recording in minutes.
“If a document is incorrect, we can quickly reject it and include a message to the filer on what to fix before re-submitting it for filing,” Hartman added.
Recording fees and payments can also be processed securely through Simplifile, eliminating check-writing expenses and reducing payment errors.
Thomas County joins 70 other e-recording counties in Nebraska in addition to more than 1200 total e-recording jurisdictions nationwide that utilize Simplifile’s service.
“We’re excited for document submitters in Thomas County to have this option available to them,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “It’s the most convenient and secure way to record documents, and it’s wonderful to see more and more counties implement e-recording nationwide.”
High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to begin e-recording with Simplifile.
