Three Seasoned Government Relations Professionals Join ICBA
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) July 15, 2015 -- The Independent Community Bankers of America® (ICBA) is pleased to announce that Jeremy Dalpiaz, Joseph Gormley and Kori Kaldor have joined the association’s Government Relations team. Dalpiaz will serve as Assistant Vice President, Cyber and Data Security Policy; Gormley as Assistant Vice President and Regulatory Counsel; and Kaldor as Assistant Vice President and Regulatory Counsel.
“As the driving force behind meaningful advocacy for the nation’s community banks, ICBA is pleased to announce the addition of three new policy experts—Jeremy Dalpiaz, Joseph Gormley and Kori Kaldor—to its government relations team,” said ICBA Senior Executive Vice President, Government Relations and Public Policy Karen Thomas. “The combined experience and expertise of these three professionals in the growing and increasingly magnified subject areas of cyber and data security and consumer protection laws and regulations is a benefit to the association and the more than 6,000 community banks across the country.”
Prior to joining ICBA, Dalpiaz served as Associate Director of Advocacy at the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). He also served on the staffs of two members of Congress from his home state of Michigan. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in political theory and constitutional democracy from Michigan State University and a Master of Public Policy with a concentration in national security policy from George Mason University. As Assistant Vice President, Cyber and Data Security Policy, Dalpiaz will focus on regulatory, legislative and market developments related to cyber and data security for the association.
Serving as Assistant Vice President and Regulatory Counsel, both Gormley and Kaldor will focus on consumer protection laws and regulations under the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s jurisdiction.
Gormley most recently served as Associate Regulatory Counsel for the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). He has also served as a Regulatory Analyst in the Office of Fraud Detection and Market Intelligence for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and as a Regulatory Research Specialist for CFM Partners. Gormley holds a Bachelor of Arts in history from Boston College and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Kaldor most recently served as a Consumer Financial Services Attorney and In-House Counsel at Flagship Credit Acceptance LLC in Pennsylvania. She has also served as a Regulatory Attorney for ICS Risk Advisors/FIS Global, as a Paralegal and Support Attorney in the Retail and Consumer Banking Division of Sovereign Bank, now Santander Bank, and as an associate with Washington, D.C.-based Tassey & Associates. Kaldor holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and literature with a minor in Spanish from Georgetown University, a J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law and an LL.M. in Banking and Financial Law from Boston University School of Law.
