Three-State Global Intellectual Property Law Symposium for Entrepreneurs and Small Businesses
Summit, New Jersey (PRWEB) February 25, 2015 -- Gearhart Law, a NJ-based firm with extensive experience in International IP Law, has organized the first annual Global Intellectual Law Symposium (GIPLS) for Entrepreneurs and Small Businesses. This free, three-day, multi-market event, “How to Play on a Global Stage,” will take place March 30-April 1 in Philadelphia; Montclair, NJ; and New York City, respectively. http://www.gipls.com
“The GIPLS was created for entrepreneurs and small business owners in the U.S. who want to learn about the ever-evolving role of intellectual property in their businesses, and who want to expand into foreign markets,” explained Richard Gearhart, Esq., Founder and Partner of Gearhart Law. “The symposium helps answer questions about the value of IP protection on the global stage and provides strategies for maximizing their return on investment.”
During GIPLS, a panel of intellectual property attorneys from six countries (Australia, Brazil Canada, China, Finland/EU and the U.S.) and representatives from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will discuss the value of patents, trademarks, and copyrights in these countries and how various regions work together to protect inventors and entrepreneurs globally.
The new symposium will be held from 6:00 to 9:00pm at the following venues:
• March 30th at The Science Center in Philadelphia, PA
• March 31st at Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ
• April 1st at Fordham University School of Law in New York, NY
The GIPLS will be moderated by Richard Gearhart, Esq., who will ask the panelists questions such as:
• Where should you file? When should you file? What should you file?
• What is the general business climate overseas for U.S. companies in 2015?
• How are the intellectual property laws different in each country?
• What are petty patents in China and what protection do they provide?
• How will the new laws in Canada affect U.S. companies?
• What is the community trademark in Australia and how does it work?
In the past, the ability to conduct business around the world has been limited mainly to large corporations with extensive resources. However, with advancements in communications and the availability of International IP Law experts, the ability to become a global player is now within reach for smaller companies. This free panel discussion addresses the IP needs of those smaller entities looking to sell their products or services overseas. Event attendees will learn about intellectual property processes, available protections and new/existing laws in various countries.

Registrants are welcome to schedule individual meetings with Gearhart Law or any of the participating panelists through the GIPLS website.
