Falls Church, VA (PRWEB) April 26, 2017 -- Three Wire Systems, (LLC) (Three Wire), a leader in protecting, supporting, and advocating for our uniformed personnel communities through proactive coaching and other military transition support services, is proud to partner with Texas A&M on their Battleground to Breaking Ground project, which supports veterans as they transition into a career of farming or ranching, and kicks off on April 28 in College Station, Texas.
American farmers/ranchers are disappearing at disturbing rates, and farming/ranching is a highly sought after career opportunity for many veterans, so the Battleground to Breaking Ground Entrepreneurial Training Project aims to increase the numbers of beginning farmers and ranchers by providing veterans the resources they need to succeed. This project will provide mentoring and technical guidance through face-to-face presentations, online courses, online webinars, and hands-on learning. Beyond education, the project will provide additional support for veterans as they make this transition from service by partnering with Three Wire’s VetAdvisor program to give participants access to proactive and ongoing coaching support across behavioral health, wellness, and other areas.
The goal of the program is to reduce the barriers that veterans face when seeking this career path, such as access to land, and set them up for lifelong success. For example, during this project, participants will gain access to land for lease to start their own agriculture business while still under the supervision of well-qualified, successful agriculturists. These successful participants will not only gain meaningful self-employment as a result of the project, but we are confident that they will strengthen the community around them and have a positive effect on the local and national food supply.
Jennifer Roseman, Three Wire’s Chief and Executive Vice President of Military and Veteran Programs, is proud to serve as a member of the advisory committee for this project, overseeing the VetAdvisor team member involvement as these veterans embark on their journey.
