Thresher Artisan Wheat Upgrades Grain Handling Assets
Blackfoot, ID (PRWEB) June 04, 2015 -- Thresher Artisan Wheat announces several projects that will substantially improve storage, handling, light processing, logistics and grain origination in eastern Idaho. In March, Agspring announced that it had acquired Moreland Grain and Seed and the company has since merged operations with Thresher Artisan Wheat, a milling-quality grain storage and merchandising subsidiary of Agspring with facilities throughout eastern Idaho.

American Falls
The American Falls location is undergoing a large-scale expansion that includes an entirely new satellite location on the western side of the American Falls Reservoir with a 1.5 million-bushel dump facility. New bunkers and a 25,000 bushel/hour heat-resistant conveyor belt are also being constructed. The expansion will make unloading quicker, easier and safer for growers.
Rockford
The Rockford location benefits from a recently completed million-bushel capacity bunker and a new state-of-the-art radio frequency identification (RFID) scale system that provides a high level of speed and automation to the grain delivery process. Drivers will no longer have to exit their rigs to process paper scale tickets as the system will automatically recognize and record their grain.
Newdale
Newdale is currently undergoing a major refit with more than half of the site's storage completely reconstructed. The upgrades also feature additional capacity, a new, more efficient truck flow, automated RFID scales and two new truck flow routes. Local growers will benefit from faster truck turns and improved safety that keeps trucks off city streets while in line for delivery.
Moreland
The new Moreland facility, acquired earlier this year, has received upgrades to safety equipment, IT systems and process improvements to yield operational efficiencies. Moreland represents a new delivery option for Thresher growers on the west-central side of the Snake River Plain.
Blackfoot
The operational headquarters of Thresher is undergoing a major capital project to double plant conditioning capacity and upgrade grain screening equipment with new X-ray-based technology that ensures no foreign material continues down through the supply chain. Thresher customers will immediately benefit from the increased capacity as Thresher strategically plans to stay ahead of the growing market demand for high-quality wheat varieties.
