Thycotic Software Adds SAML Integration for Single Sign-On to Secret Server
Washington, DC (PRWEB) October 22, 2013 -- Secret Server adds single sign-on (SSO) for quick logins. The latest release of Secret Server adds a technology integration with the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), an open-source, XML-based standard that enables parties to exchange authentication data. Simply put, the integration provides Secret Server users with a way to automatically sign in to the password management tool when their company has implemented SAML.
Secret Server is an enterprise password management tool for I.T. departments’ privileged accounts. Developed by Thycotic Software, the software application is praised for its ease of use in an enterprise environment. “The SAML integration is a big step for Secret Server,” said Ben Yoder, Product Manager for Secret Server at Thycotic Software.
“Secret Server itself brings single sign-on ability to I.T. administrator’s privileged accounts, but until now, we had not integrated with SSO for the app’s own log in.”
The SAML integration is built for SAML 2.0 and enables users to authenticate into the Secret Server website. For the integration, users can configure Secret Server as a service provider and link it to their SAML identity provider. By turning on the integration, users will be able to access their Secret Server password repository without entering their Secret Server credentials.
All Secret Server features are built with customers in mind, explained Kaitlin Moran, Customer Relations Manager, “SAML integration was requested by several large technology companies, and longtime customers. They wanted to provide their employees with even more simplicity for account authentication.”
