Tidewater Physical Therapy’s Fegan Hewitt Promoted to Senior Physical Therapist at Brandermill Location
Richmond, Va. (PRWEB) November 16, 2014 -- Tidewater Physical Therapy is pleased to announce that Fegan Hewitt, PT, DPT, has been promoted to Senior Physical Therapist at its Brandermill location near Richmond, Va.
“I enjoy leadership roles,” Hewitt said. “I love this clinic, and that’s why I was hoping for this promotion, for the opportunity to be more active.”
Hewitt, who has worked as a physical therapist at the clinic for more than two years, has always been very active in and out of the clinic and knew from an early age she was destined for a career where she got to move around and help people heal.
“The pivotal component of physical therapy lies in understanding how and why your body functions as it does, as well as learning how to communicate with and read the natural signs it provides; therein lies the nature of all injuries and the key to a successful and fulfilling recovery,” Hewitt said.
After graduating from James Madison University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology, Hewitt earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.
“I love seeing people get better,” Hewitt said. “I’m the therapist at this location that deals with vertigo, and a lot of times people will come in and their vertigo has completely affected their lifestyle. They don’t realize it can be a quick fix by a physical therapist and when it is, I love feeling their sense of relief. You can always see it in their face.”
Hewitt, who moved to the Brandermill area when she was four, grew up practicing and competing on local soccer and volleyball teams. Today she runs and is often training for 5, 8 and 10K races as well as playing volleyball and soccer.
Inside the clinic, Hewitt anticipates staying busy as she takes on her role as Senior Physical Therapist.
“Our clinic has such good rapport with our patients,” Hewitt said. “Our old patients always recommend us, and I love that people enjoy themselves when they come in, especially because of how well our team works together. That plays a big role in the recovery process, and I’m really excited to be a part of that and to be a face for that.”
