Tijuana Flats Ends 2014 Strong and Poised for Additional Future Growth
Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) January 22, 2015 -- Tijuana Flats Tex-Mex restaurants closes 2014 with strong financial results and poised for additional growth in 2015. Same store sales for restaurants opened at least 19 months showed an increase of 1.24% and an overall sales increase of 8.13%. Nine new locations were opened to include two in North Carolina, six in Florida and the first in Georgia ending the year with a total unit count of 106. The brand continues to be innovative, edgy and most relevant with a Hemp Burrito offering that received significant “buzz” across all markets.
At Tijuana Flats, team members continue to be the top priority. Nine educational scholarships in the amount of $2,500 each were distributed to outstanding student team members totaling $22,500. These students work hard both in the classroom and at their respective Tijuana Flats locations. This year, the company also awarded Eddie Brim with the Chester’s Working Warriors Fellowship which allows a military veteran to work and undergo training in all aspects of the business such as Information Technology, Marketing, Human Resources, Operations, etc. Upon completion of the program, Tijuana Flats assists the recipient in permanent job placement.
Tijuana Flats maintains a strong culture of commitment to the communities where we live and work. In 2014, team members logged 2,253 volunteer hours showing support for Habitat for Humanity, Head Start, Wounded Warriors Project and many more organizations.
The Tijuana Flats Just In Queso Foundation donated $460,000 across all Tijuana Flats markets to local organizations such as the Children’s Home Society of Florida, HOPE Helps, Inc., Camp No Limits, Mentally Fit Teens and countless food donations distributed. Additionally, during three weeks in October, Tijuana Flats raised $175,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
