Tim Leeper Roofing Awards Middle Tennessee Homeowner With New Roof in Time for the Holidays
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) December 26, 2013 -- Margaret Lowe will be able to enjoy a warm and dry home this holiday thanks to her new roof from Tim Leeper Roofing. The Waverly, Tennessee resident was voted the winner by the Middle Tennessee community after sharing her story for Leeper’s Roof Giveaway contest.
Unaware that she had even been entered into the contest, Lowe saw her name in the list of the 10 finalists and thought it was just coincidence. After her daughter confirmed that she had entered her into the contest, Lowe thought actually winning wouldn’t happen. “I was joyful and happy and in disbelief,” she says.
Lowe left her long-time nursing career due to health issues, leaving her finances tight and her roof on a long list of things to fix. Her 20 year old roof was rotten and damaged in areas that have caused leaks within her home.
“I knew the roof was in bad shape when I went into the lower part of the house and I had water running down the base of the wall,” Lowe says. “When it rained, I really knew I was in trouble.”
Aside from financial challenges, Lowe’s family has experienced the loss of her husband, son and grandson in the past year. Yet, she sees the roof as a positive turn in spite of the tough year behind her.
Tim Leeper, owner of Tim Leeper Roofing, created the Roof Giveaway contest as simply a way to pay it forward to someone in his community. In November, he called on Middle Tennessee residents to share the stories of their family, friends and neighbors to help him find a homeowner in need of a new roof for the holidays. Ten households were chosen to share their story via video to be posted on Tim Leeper Roofing’s Facebook page and voted on by the community. Over 1600 votes were cast and Margaret Lowe was awarded the grand prize.
“I was thankful to know I had that many people who cared about me and my family — friends and Facebook friends, friends from high school days, even people from out of state. It was nothing short of a miracle,” Lowe says of surprising number of Facebook ‘likes’ her video received.
Tim Leeper Roofing is locally owned and operated and has provided quality roofing services to the Nashville area for nearly 10 years. Leeper is also an avid supporter of his community and non-profit organizations with events such as the Roof Giveaway contest and Music City Guitar Tour, an event that supports local non-profits with cash prizes and guitars signed by famous musicians and celebrities.
