Timberline Four Seasons Resort Celebrates 30 Years of Skiing with Awesome Deal
Davis, WV (PRWEB) December 07, 2015 -- While Timberline Four Seasons Resort in Canaan Valley, West Virginia is at the peak of nature's colorful fall panorama, resort staff is preparing for the 2015-16 ski season. In addition to the annual mountain preparations, Timberline is upgrading their snowmaking system and adding new terrain, as well as introducing a special offer to celebrate their 30th anniversary. Focusing on guest satisfaction and observing 30 years of service to the region's skiing public, Timberline is offering The Awesome Pass, a three-year season lift ticket for just $499.
“The Awesome Pass gives skiers unprecedented access to the mountain for a very low cost,” said Fred Herz, co-owner and CEO of Timberline. The promotion officially launched on Monday, October 6 and will continue to sell until supplies run out. Timberline is offering an “all-access” no-blackout date pass to the first 500 takers.
Timberline believes The Awesome Pass will appeal to skiers because of its exceptionally low price and flexibility. The pass, priced well below Timberline’s standard one-year season pass rate, isn’t just a good deal for regular season pass-holders – it’s designed to allow skiers new to Timberline to “try before you buy”. Skiers and snowboarders can buy a one- to three-day lift ticket to try out Herz Mountain, and after hitting the slopes, they have the option to pay the difference to upgrade that ticket to The Awesome Pass. The pass is transferable, so there is no risk for the Timberline enthusiast who moves cross-country or breaks a leg and can’t take advantage of the value.
“Timberline’s customers tend to be very loyal, returning year after year to ski with us. We wanted to reward our customers with this ‘awesome’ deal to thank them for 30 years of support,” said Herz. “We’ve tried to make this deal as flexible as possible to accommodate both returning skiers and those trying Timberline for the first time. I don’t think there’s anything else like this out there.”
“The initial response has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Kendra Curran, Timberline’s Marketing Director. “These passes are selling fast, but we do still have some of the all-access, no blackout date tickets left.”
The Herz/Reichle family purchased Herz Mountain in 1985 and opened to the public as Timberline Four Seasons Resort the following year. 30 years later, Timberline is the only family owned and operated ski resort in the region, with 3 chairlifts and a clamp tow, 39 trails, and 325 employees during peak season who call Timberline "home”. The mountain has a peak elevation of 4,268 feet, a 1,000 foot vertical drop, and enjoys up to 225 inches of natural snow seasonally.
“We have big expansion plans for the resort, starting with adding a second, larger terrain park and increasing our snowmaking capacity by 30%, both of which will be completed for this season,” said Herz.
Timberline’s second terrain park will be located between Lower Almost Heaven and Good Intentions and will boast a new handle tow to get skiers up the mountain. New water pumps and 20 additional Snowlogic power guns will increase Timberline’s snowmaking capacity by 30% over last season, allowing more trails to open before Christmas, Mother Nature willing. The resort is also opening 2 new gladed areas this season, totaling approximately 8 additional acres.
