Time Warner Cable Launches Faster Internet Speeds For New Jersey Customers
New York, NY (PRWEB) October 08, 2014 -- Time Warner Cable Internet customers in New Jersey can now receive dramatically faster download speeds at no additional charge as Time Warner Cable continues to transform the broadband and cable experience in the New York City market.
Customers who subscribe to any of the six Internet plans offered by Time Warner Cable are receiving an increase in speeds, with customers experiencing speeds between two to six times faster than before. Customers with Standard Internet service will see their top download speed jump from 15 Mbps to 50 Mbps. The fastest TWC Internet plan, Ultimate, now offers a top download speed of 300 Mbps, up from 100 Mbps previously.
“These significant speed increases and network enhancements will allow our Internet customers to get the most out of their TWC experience,” said Time Warner Cable regional vice president John Quigley. “With this service transformation, our customers can enjoy all the ways they use TWC Internet even better, including streaming video, downloading music and more.”
Some customers will need a DOCSIS 3.0 modem to enjoy the full benefits of the speed increases, and they will be contacted by Time Warner Cable about their choices for receiving a new device. Customers can also visit http://www.twc.com/bettertwcmodem for more information about how to receive a new modem.
For business customers, Time Warner Cable Business Services will offer speed tiers of 100 x 10, 200 x 20 and 300 x 20 as new options in its Wideband portfolio, complementing the existing tiers of Internet services. TWC Business Services also offers a symmetrical fiber-based Internet service that delivers speeds of up to 10 x 10 gigabits per second for business customers.
New TV Experience
By the end of this year, customers throughout the New York City market — including New Jersey — will have access to Internet speeds of up to 300 Mbps, all-digital TV and a graphically rich programming guide with up to 39,000 hours of On Demand content choices — all backed by rock-solid reliability. TWC will also introduce the new Enhanced DVR, an advanced set-top box with one terabyte of storage, enough to hold 150 hours of high-definition (HD) programming. TWC customers will see their DVR storage increase two to six times more than their current DVR capabilities. The Enhanced DVR also comprises six tuners, which provide the ability to simultaneously record up to six different programs.
