AMDETUR (which stands for Asociación Mexicana de Desarrolladores Turísticos) is otherwise known as the Mexican Resort Development Association and is the national association for the timeshare and fractional ownership industry in Mexico. Created in 1987, AMDETUR groups investors, resort developers, marketers, managers, operators, real estate companies, law practices and consultancy firms. Currently, AMDETUR represents 90% of the tourism development businesses in Mexico.

The scrutiny to abide under the ethics codes of these organizations shows the commitment by the company to transparency and credible business practices - principles needed by more operators in the timeshare resale space according to Kogelman.
