Tinkergarten Hires Gary Burns as CTO—Accelerates Its Platform Development
BROOKLYN, NY & NORTHAMPTON, MA (PRWEB) August 13, 2015 -- Tinkergarten®, the leading provider of local outdoor early childhood education, has announced the appointment of Gary Burns as CTO. This strategic addition to the team will bring exceptional technical experience as Tinkergarten continues to scale its platform nationally. Burns will support the rapid growth of Tinkergarten’s core technology that remotely trains leaders, brings local parent communities together, facilitates local marketing and e-commerce, and supports children’s learning.
“I’ve been in this business for 20 years, and can’t think of a better match for Tinkergarten than Gary. He’s spent his career addressing many similar challenges that Tinkergarten will face as we continue to scale, bridging online and on ground communities. Plus, he’s a highly engaged dad,” said Brian Fitzgerald, Founder and CEO of Tinkergarten.
Burns brings with him 20 years of experience in Silicon Valley and New York, building technology and teams to deliver innovative consumer services, at scale, online. As one of the original developers of Yahoo Mail, he helped bring critical communication services to hundreds of millions of consumers, and, over the last 10 years, has helped create hyper-local communities and network effects for Meetup.com.
“My work has been building reliable, highly scalable systems, and using technology to help people connect face to face. I’m thrilled with the opportunity, now, to help parents give this impactful form of early childhood education to their kids, no matter where they live,” said Burns.
This appointment is effective immediately, and will help Tinkergarten meet the demand for their service in new markets this fall.
