TIPRO Celebrates Second Annual Texas Top Producers Awards
Austin, TX (PRWEB) October 30, 2013 -- On October 29, 2013, the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association (TIPRO) hosted its second annual Texas Top Producers awards banquet at the Houston Petroleum Club. This year, 88 oil and natural gas executives were honored across four disciplines, including Best CEOs, Best Landmen, Best Geoscientists and Best Engineers.
In 2012, TIPRO partnered with the publishers of Texas Monthly magazine to establish the Texas Top Producers awards program in order to build awareness for the unprecedented economic impact of the Texas oil and gas industry and the leaders that have directly contributed to its success. Additional supporting partners of the program this year included the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL), the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, and the Best Companies Group.
In addition to being recognized before a sold-out crowd, the 2013 honorees were also featured in the October 2013 edition of Texas Monthly.
“The Texas oil and gas industry continues to lead the country in employment, production, and leadership from a regulatory standpoint,” said David Martineau, chairman of TIPRO. “The 2013 Texas Top Producers honorees are among the best in their respective disciplines from more than one million workers directly employed by U.S. oil and gas industry.”
“Texas Top Producers is one of many TIPRO initiatives designed to promote our industry and strengthen its ability to drive exploration and production activity in our state,” said Ed Longanecker, president of TIPRO. “The importance of the industry at the state, local and national level is unmatched, and the professionals contributing to the growth and success of this sector deserve greater recognition.”
The 2013 Texas Top Producers awards banquet, which was underwritten by PricewaterhouseCoopers, also featured Railroad Commission Chairman Barry Smitherman as the evening’s guest speaker.
2013 award honorees were chosen by a committee comprised of past winners, industry and association executives following an extensive open nominations process.
