Tobacco Road Sports Cafe Wins Best Restaurant in Durham
Durham, NC (PRWEB) October 22, 2013 -- Tobacco Road Sports Cafe is pleased to win Best Restaurant in Durham as voted on by the readers of Durham Magazine. Durham Magazine reaches over 52,000 area readers and the Best Restaurant in Durham award is an especially coveted recognition in Durham, a city recently recognized by national media including The New York Times, Southern Living and Bon Appetit as a haven for foodies.
"This particular award means so much to our team," said Rommie Amra, co-owner of Tobacco Road Sports Cafe, "Our goals have always been to deliver fresh, local and delicious food; exceptional service and infinite sports. We are proud to have won numerous awards over the years recognizing Tobacco Road as a destination for sports fans—but the Best Restaurant in Durham award recognizes our ability to deliver the full vision of Tobacco Road to the Triangle community."
Tobacco Road entered the Triangle restaurant scene nearly five years ago with a unique concept—a family-owned and operated restaurant that refused to be boxed in to the typical experience offered by restaurants and bars with a sports focus. Tobacco Road hired an executive chef to craft a locally-inspired menu comprised of fresh, local ingredients. Tobacco Road servers proudly remind guests that all menu items can be made to accommodate any dietary needs and that the only thing frozen in the restaurant is the ice cream.
The first Tobacco Road Sports Cafe opened on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh in late 2009. Since then, new locations have opened on the American Tobacco Campus in Durham and in East 54 in Chapel Hill. In 2013 alone, Tobacco Road received the following awards or recognition:

About Tobacco Road Sports Cafe
Tobacco Road Sports Cafe is literally a dream that came true for the Amra brothers. Being avid sports fans and foodies, they had a vision of a new breed of sports restaurant. One where your wife actually wants to go watch the game with you and where you know your kids can get a healthy, fresh and delicious meal. Where the food isn't thawed out and then deep-fried. Where the staff not only know a thing or two about sports, but understand the importance of a request to view a particular game (or a few games) and the desire to enjoy exceptional service where your needs are anticipated and met.
