Tom Meehan's Arresting Pinellas County Challenge
Tampa, Florida (PRWEB) October 31, 2013 -- Tom Meehan, an illustrious Pinellas Country business owner, is celebrating one-quarter of a century of successful entrepreneurship by challenging traditional beliefs regarding people who were either accused of a committing a crime or arrested outright. Meehan specifically issued a challenge to business owners around the region, asking that they turn a less judgmental eye to websites aimed at shaming people with arrest records that may be up to two decades old.
Tom Meehan spent the better part of 2012 and 2013 educating himself regarding the topic of optimization of text for search engines, online reporting sites and the concept of mugshot shaming websites that are intended to make a person feel the sting of old mistakes years after the fact. Meehan found that mugshot records on websites often went far beyond the statute of limitations, and prevented many people who had paid their dues from getting hired for legitimate employment. He found this completely unacceptable, because companies under his entrepreneurial banner had long made a practice of giving people a second chance.
Tom Meehan committed himself to finding a way to bring attention to the problem of mugshot record sites, and their interference with the ability of average people to earn a decent livelihood. Rather than attacking mugshot sites directly, Meehan decided it would make more sense to challenge his fellow business owners and the only requirement was that they open their doors to good people who were looking for an opportunity.
Friends of Meehan’s have taken to calling his challenge “Tom Meehan’s Arresting Opportunity.” All involved hope that the call to action puts good people in jobs during 2014.
