Tomboy Tools Announces Global Partnership with Habitat for Humanity
Denver, CO (PRWEB) August 14, 2013 -- Tomboy Tools, a direct-selling company that combines ergonomically designed tools for women with hands-on education, and Habitat for Humanity recently announced they have joined forces in helping low-income families realize their dreams of home ownership. Tomboy Tools has committed a minimum of $150,000 to Habitat for Humanity in the next two years, supporting Habitat’s efforts to construct, rehabilitate or preserve affordable housing.
Tomboy Tools has named Habitat as the main recipient of its “Pink for a Purpose” Fund. Habitat will receive a percentage of sales* of select “Pink for a Purpose” tools between August 1, 2013, and July 31, 2015, with a minimum donation of $150,000 guaranteed. Since the “Pink for a Purpose” Fund’s inception, Tomboy Tools has been able to donate over $300,000 to charities such as the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the Avon Foundation for Women, and Denver Dumb Friends League.

The first all-women built Habitat house was constructed in 1991, and since Habitat’s Women Build Program was formed in 1998, more than 2,100 Habitat for Humanity Women Build homes have been constructed in partnership with low-income families.
