Tommy Middaugh Travel To Go Vice President Lists Top 3 Cirque de Soleil Shows in Las Vegas
SAN DIEGO, CA (PRWEB) September 24, 2015 -- While a myriad of entertainers make their way through or stay for a residency in Sin City, there is one name in entertainment that is synonymous with Las Vegas.
Cirque de Soleil has been in various theaters up and down the Strip for years now. Travel To Go knows their shows may vary in theme, but never in entertainment value. To help visitors select a Cirque show to see, Tommy Middaugh has put together this list of his top three favorites.
O: The name of his show is a play on the French word for water. Using that as a theme, Cirque du Soleil has put together an ethereal, visually stunning show that incorporates the elements of air, fire and – of course - water. The cast of 85 acrobats, synchronized swimmers and divers perform in and above a 1.5 million-gallon pool throughout the show. The audience follows a boy who is transported from the audience to the stage to embark on a journey through a beautiful, mysterious aquatic world. He and the audience witness a dazzling parade of talented performers, unique characters and costumes. Visitors can catch this show at the Bellagio.
Michael Jackson ONE: In this show, audiences follow four misfits through a magical world inspired by the music and imagination of pop star Michael Jackson. Throughout the performance, Jackson’s presence is felt both aurally and visually. The stage and walls of the Mandalay Bay Theater have been transformed to create a dynamic and immersive video display. Tommy Middaugh of Travel To Go shares that Cirque even uses GPS trackers to allow video to be projected anywhere, even on the performers. The show of course features innovative new Cirque du Soleil acrobatics and amazing dance numbers, but the star of the show is Michael Jackson. Expect to hear such songs as “Man in the Mirror,” “Bad,” “Smooth Criminal” and “Billie Jean.”
Believe: Joining together with Criss Angel, the man who reinvented street magic, “Believe” combines Angel’s dark persona with Cirque’s ability to create larger-than-life settings. Performing in grand style at the Luxor Theater, the Cirque cast pairs with Angel to showcase his magic through a loosely connected narrative. Tommy Middaugh says this pairing allows Angel to up the ante yet again, paring illusions with the artistry that has made Cirque du Soleil famous around the world. “Believe” features a dark and mysterious set design and acrobatics, but the main focus of the show is Angel's unique style of magic.
