Out of the seven European destinations on the list, Cyprus and Costa del Sol in Spain complete the top three positions. There is little surprise that Paris also feature high on the list. Other contenders that made it to the top ten include long time favourites of European holiday makers - the Algarve region in Portugal, Tenerife in the Canary Islands and Majorca in the Balearic Islands. Cornwall in South West England is the only UK destination to feature on the list. Demand for holiday cottages in Cornwall has always been strong especially in summer months. The region’s appeal was further boosted by the popular TV drama series “Doc Martin” which was set in a picturesque Cornish fishing village. For long haul destinations, Florida on East coast USA and Sydney in Australia continue to attract masses seeking sunshine, beaches and great family holidays. The close proximity of their Florida vacation rentals to the world famous theme parks also plays a big part in making the destination one of the top picks for villa holidays in 2014.
