#1 - Suunto Ambit 2 - "Ambit 2 lacks Bluetooth for mobile data transfer but it does everything else with ease and mobile data transfer is never as fast", says Squire. He adds, "Suunto Ambit 2's barometric altimeter, compass, trackback, swim, run and bike features all function very admirably, plus it is very easy to use".
#2 - Polar V800 - "With its Bluetooth, activity features, advanced heart rate data and full triathlon features this will be the best new triathlon watch introduced during 2014", says Squire. He adds, "Ironman world champion Frederick Von Lierde has been using this watch since Kona last year, so it's tested by the best".
#3 - Garmin Forerunner 220 - "We love this watch because it is simple, much less expensive than the Forerunner 620, and it is the lightest fully integrated GPS running watch at 1.4 ounces", says Squire. He adds, "It also has Bluetooth, custom interval training and is a superb running watch".
"These are the top 3 on our list for now until we can engage in further testing", says Squire. He adds, "An honorable mention would also be the Garmin Tactix for military personnel as its functionality was also quite good in our testing".
"We are also excited to see what Garmin comes out with later this year to replace the Garmin 910XT triathlon watch as it is quite plausible they will release a replacement", says Squire. He adds, "I'm looking for Bluetooth, advanced running features like the 620 and activity tracking but we'll see what they decide".
