Top Flight MMA Teen, Jordan Stewart, Wins Double Gold in the Expert Division at Grapplers Quest Nationals
Belcamp, Maryland (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- This past weekend, Top Flight MMA traveled up the New Jersey Turnpike to participate in the Grappler's Quest U.S Nationals. Grapplers Quest is world renowned for pitting thousands of the world's best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and grappling practitioners against one another to see who is the best in each weight class and age division. The Grapplers Quest Nationals was no exception as it was spectacular, especially for one teenager from Aberdeen Maryland named Jordan Stewart.
Stewart has been working his way up the grappling divisions for the last 2 years, winning gold in novice to intermediate division. Once stepping up to the elite expert division competition was bit more fierce as anyone would imagine. The gold medals seemed to elude Stewart, but he would come way with great learning experiences and an increased determination to win first place in the elite levels. His persistence paid off this past week and paid off big. Not only did he win impressively, including wins with lightning fast submission, but he won all his matches taking home two expert belts. With that performance, this High School Honor student cemented himself has a top teen grappling talent in the United States. Only a very few competitors win expert gold and even fewer double gold, winning both gi and no gi divisions, and Jordan Stewart did both.
Stewart had this to say about winning the Grapplers Quest belts," It felt really good to finally win the belt. The belts look so cool! I used to look at people win belts and walk around wearing them, and would think that would be so awesome for me to win one to so I could hold it and wear it on my shoulder. Now I have two belts to wear. I'm very pleased and ready to win more expert belts".
Top Flight MMA teens coach, Joey Stallings, had this to say, "Jordan is a awesome student, and not only in martial arts. He takes what we teach at Top Flight and applies to everything. It was exciting to see him reach a goal he had set for himself and to see him believe that he could achieve it. Winning the expert division is no small order, these teens can out grapple adults, that's how good they are. Now we will get ready the next tournaments and continue to grow in the martial arts".
