Top Technology Talent at Inmar Working to Fuel Student Passion for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
Winston-Salem, NC (PRWEB) June 17, 2015 -- Five members of Inmar’s Technology team and their middle school coach will compete Friday to build the winning robot at the Robot Fun Run to be held in Innovation Quarter’s BioTech Place from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. The Inmar team and their coach took first place in last year’s competition.
This annual competition is part of the Winston-Salem robotics program to fuel students’ interest in science and technology in addition to teaching them employment and life skills. The Robot Fun Run brings together teams from area businesses, institutions and departments who accept the challenge to build and program a LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robot and then compete to score as many points as possible on a thematic playing surface. The team with the most points receives its very own LEGO® trophy.
Also on display at the competition will be the robot built by Girls on Fire, the Inmar-sponsored team that competed in the NC FIRST Robotics competition earlier this year. The team was the first all-girl team in the Triad. Both programs are part of Inmar’s commitment to investing in programs that help develop future engineers, data scientists, mathematicians, analysts and other STEM disciplines.
