TopGolf to Break Ground on U.S. Tribal Land, Another ‘first’ for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community; Topgolf Adds to a List of Firsts in the Talking Stick Destination Area at Indian Bend and the 101
Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community, AZ (PRWEB) July 20, 2013 -- The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC) announced TopGolf, an emerging global leader in golf entertainment, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the first Arizona location at Riverwalk within the Talking Stick Cultural and Entertainment Destination area on Friday. July 19, at 8:00 a.m.
The Salt River Indian Community is a known leader on economic development in Indian country, this new venture will make it TopGolf’s first ever property on U.S. Tribal land. It joins six other fine entertainment venues in the Talking Stick Destination area: Talking Stick Golf Club, Talking Stick Resort, Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, Pavilions Shopping Center at Talking Stick, Butterfly Wonderland and Courtyard Marriott Scottsdale Salt River.
“We are thrilled to welcome TopGolf to the east Valley, Scottsdale, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and more specifically, the Talking Stick Destination area,” Project Manager Blessing McAnlis-Vasquez said. “Much like our other area attractions, TopGolf promises to bring a world-class experience, appealing to visitors of all ages, and will serve as a strong economic driver for tourism to the Talking Stick Destination area and the state.”
The new tri-level facility will include up to 3,000 square feet of private event space and 102 climate-controlled hitting bays that can host up to six players at one time. Chief Development Officer Randy Starr estimates that TopGolf at Riverwalk will serve approximately 400,000 visitors in its first year of operation. “TopGolf is honored to partner with the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community to bring a new kind of entertainment concept to an area that is already renowned as a top cultural tourism destination,” said Starr.
