Toppers Pizza Reports a System-Wide Sales Increase of 6.3 Percent in Q4 of 2013
Whitewater, WI (PRWEB) January 28, 2014 -- Toppers Pizza (Toppers) continues to prove that its pizza reigns supreme as it boasted outstanding Q4 sales numbers to finish out 2013.
The brand has demonstrated authority in the crowded pizza segment, reporting a 6.3 percent system-wide sales increase among company and franchised-owned stores in Q4, in addition to rounding out the year with 17 new store commitments. Company-owned units also experienced a 1.3 percent increase in same-store sales in the last quarter.
Maintaining its title as a hot and fast-growing pizza chain, the 53-unit pizza brand is currently on target to open more than 20 additional restaurants in 2014, with 8-10 stores projected to open in top growth markets including Chicago and Minneapolis.
“Our results over the past year are a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire Toppers team,” said President and CEO of Toppers Scott Gittrich. “Hot off our record-breaking week with three stores opening over seven days, we’re fully prepared to continue our positive franchise growth and sales performance by providing consistent service to our customers and giving entrepreneurs the ultimate opportunity for business ownership.”
In addition to its sales and franchise success, much of Toppers’ growth is attributed to its dedication to patrons through enhanced customer service as well as the brand’s fun, irreverent voice in the dull pizza market. Making a name for itself as a pioneer of unique menu innovations with the release of its world-famous Topperstix™, the brand continued on its trend in 2013 with the rollout of the El Cubano, Loaded Tot-zza and Three Little Pigs house pizzas.
With 53 units across Wisconsin, Minnesota, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, North Carolina, Nebraska, Arkansas, Indiana and Texas, Toppers will continue operating as a growth-focused franchise by building a larger presence throughout the Midwest in 2014. With the support of dedicated multi-unit franchisees, the brand aims to reach 500 locations by 2020.
“Through our partnership with accomplished and dedicated entrepreneurs as well as our strong corporate foundation, we are uniquely suited to grow from our Midwestern roots into a national brand,” Gittrich said. “In 2014, we are looking forward to furthering our growth trajectory and spreading our playful, irreverent and passionate personality to more fans across the United States.”
About Toppers Pizza
In 1991, Toppers Pizza began its quest to become the best pizza company in the world by killing it on every detail of the customer experience. Headquartered in Whitewater, Wis., Toppers takes a unique approach to the crowded pizza segment by cooking up mouthwatering specialty pizzas that start with their fresh, made-from-scratch dough, smothered in real Wisconsin cheese and finished with outrageous toppings such as French fried onions, oven-roasted tomatoes, mac ‘n cheese and tater tots. Toppers’ claim to fame comes in the form of Topperstix™, arguably the planet’s most addictively delicious cheesy breadstix. The Toppers empire encompasses 53 restaurants across 10 states and, with its rapid expansion, is in the midst of Midwest and national domination. In 2013, Entrepreneur Magazine ranked Toppers as one of the top 500 franchises in the U.S., Nation’s Restaurant News declared the brand as one of the 50 breakout chains of the year, and Toppers received a No. 58 spot in Pizza Today’s top 100 pizza companies.
