Toronto Long Term Disability Lawyer Encourages Participation in Bell Let’s Talk Day 2014
Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) January 28, 2014 -- Aaron Waxman and Associates, the well-known, experienced Toronto long-term disability firm is gearing up to participate in the conversation about mental health awareness.
On Tuesday, January 28, 2014, Bell Canada is holding its 4th annual Bell Let’s Talk Day, where every text message, mobile and long distance call made (for Bell customers), tweet containing the hashtag #BellLetsTalk and Facebook share of the Bell Let’s Talk image will result in Bell donating 5¢ to mental health initiatives.
Throughout Bell Let’s Talk Day, Aaron Waxman and Associates will be actively tweeting, retweeting and posting on Facebook in order to help raise awareness and funding for the commendable cause, using their Twitter handles, @InjuryLegalFirm, @TorontoLTDLaw and Facebook Pages, Aaron Waxman and Associates Personal Injury Law Firm and Toronto Personal Injury Lawyers.
Mental illness is the leading cause of disability in Canada.
According to the Mental Health Commission of Canada, every day, 500,000 people miss work due to a form of mental illness.
Aaron Waxman, founder of Aaron Waxman and Associates, had this to say:
“Bell Let’s Talk Day is an opportunity to open the conversation about mental health and to attempt to reduce stigma surrounding mental illness. As a lawyer whose practice focuses on long-term disability cases, I understand the impact that mental illness can have on a person’s ability to function and how profoundly mental illness affects not just the person, but his or her family. I encourage everyone to call, text, tweet, and share on Facebook on January 28, 2014 so we can open the dialogue and raise awareness.”
According to the Canadian Medical Association, only 49% of people said they would socialize with a friend who has a serious mental illness. To this, Mr. Waxman says, “We need to change these statistics. This is why we all must participate in Bell Let’s Talk Day 2014 and work together to end stigma.”
In addition to successfully helping clients with their long-term disability claims, the firm actively gives back to the community, including being a past supporter of brain injury associations, such as the Brian Injury Association of Peel and Halton (BIAPH) and is an active supporter of The Tema Conter Memorial Trust, an organization that provides peer and psychological support to Canada’s public safety organizations (paramedics, firefighters, first responders, police, military personnel).
