Toronto Public Library Launches Zinio Marketing Campaign
Prince Frederick, MD (PRWEB) December 17, 2013 -- Since their launch in March 2013, Toronto Public Library has headed numerous marketing campaigns to promote the digital magazine service Zinio to their patrons. They will have produced over 1 million downloads in the 12-month period from October 2013 to October 2014, making TPL RBdigital’s No. 1 Zinio magazine user.
“What Toronto Public Library has done with Zinio is remarkable and a model marketing success story,” said Bryan Messersmith, Recorded Books National Accounts Manager.
The TPL marketing department recently launched a Twitter contest where patrons are eligible to win one of five iPad mini tablet devices by downloading an eBook or eMagazine from the library and tweeting what they’re reading using hashtag #TPLereads.
Toronto Public Library’s marketing efforts also include a transit poster campaign, press releases that resulted in radio, TV and newspaper coverage, and ads in the local free newspaper.
Messersmith joined Toronto Public Library’s marketing team on their outreach effort last week as they traveled around the city to office buildings, shopping centers and subways demonstrating the library’s digital resources on iPads.
Maria Cipriano, Toronto Public Library Collections Librarian, Electronic and Online Resources, appealed to ladies in the shopping mall commenting, “you’ll save so much money on magazines that you can afford to buy more shoes!”
“Our staff’s enthusiasm and dedication to spreading the word about the service has made Zinio a success at our library,” said Michelle Leung, Toronto Public Library Communications Officer. “It really was a team effort.”
