Totally New Technologies announces allowance of SKIMDOCTOR patent application.
Nashville, Tn (PRWEB) March 19, 2014 -- Totally New Technologies is pleased to announce that the U.S. patent application for its SkimDoctor™ pool product has been allowed. The application was issued on a first action allowance, meaning that no claim amendments or arguments were necessary to secure the patent.
According to SkimDoctor inventor Ron Smith, “A first action allowance is relatively rare and occurs in less than 15% of patent applications filed at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. We believe that this official action from the Patent Office speaks to the uniqueness of our product.”
The SkimDoctor is the first patent issued to Totally New Technologies, which is committed to bringing innovative, energy-saving products to market. The company has fifteen additional products in development. These products-in-development include pool products as well as products outside of the pool industry.
Invented by serial inventor Ron Smith, the SkimDoctor attaches to a pool skimmer basket and increases the velocity of water and debris entering the basket through the Bernoulli principle. The product solves the century old problem of having to put your hand through all the debris to remove the basket. The SkimDoctor was officially introduced in November 2013 at the Pool Spa & Patio show in Las Vegas, the leading swimming pool tradeshow and garnered significant attention from industry leaders at the show. In addition to the United States, the company is also pursuing patent and trademark protection in several foreign countries.
