TouchCare Makes Mobile Face-to-Face Consults Between Physicians Easy
DURHAM, North Carolina (PRWEB) July 17, 2015 -- TouchCare is announcing a product update that gives physicians and health care providers an easy way to do video consults with their peers or colleagues. With the new “My Colleagues” feature, providers can invite other providers to join their private networks on TouchCare. Providers can schedule HIPAA-compliant video consults with each other or make themselves available for on-demand consults. Adding to the app’s ability to connect providers with their own patients, this feature now allows providers to talk face-to-face privately with another doctor, or sit alongside their patient to present their case to a specialist anywhere in the world using TouchCare.
TouchCare gives providers an immediate telemedicine capability via a simple app download. Set up is free, easy and only takes a few minutes. Providers simply download TouchCare onto any iOS or Android device, set up a profile, and invite their patients — and now other providers — to join their network. Connected users can schedule and perform secure video appointments with each other, with no change in clinical work flow, and work seamlessly alongside their existing EMR systems. TouchCare is used by physicians and health care providers at some of America’s leading medical institutions in a variety of use cases, including appointment follow-ups, low acuity illness, minor urgent care, test results, chronic illness management, medication refills, and afterhours care.
“With TouchCare’s My Colleagues feature, calling in a consult is fast and easy,” said Dr. Jameelah Melton, the telemedicine company’s chief medical officer and founder of Sollus Pediatrics in North Carolina. “As doctors, we’re regularly consulting colleagues, specialists and other providers, and TouchCare lets you do that face-to-face from anywhere. Along with advantages for private communication with another provider, the video consult is a great addition during a patient’s appointment. I can present to the other provider with the patient in the room for better communication through the care chain. It ultimately eliminates any misunderstandings or communication gaps and improves the continuity of care.”
Dr. Melton uses TouchCare’s video appointments directly with her patients to consult for things like pink eye and rashes. She also uses it for more unique situations such as postpartum visits to check on new moms or to offer virtual attendance of a second guardian wishing to participate remotely in an in-office appointment. With the product update, she plans to also leverage the app for doctor-to-doctor communication.
The product update also includes improved email and in-app appointment confirmation notifications to further ensure security and keep schedules intact. Additionally, a new My Clinics feature for patients allows them to easily access all information for a provider’s clinic, such as phone number, directions and a list of all physicians, so they can quickly connect and stay in touch.
TouchCare is a free and easy to use solution for anyone from solo practitioners to providers in large clinics or hospitals to improve the quality of care, save time and money, and improve patient satisfaction.
