Tourbar.com Announces Spike in Members Looking to Find a Partner and Visit New Destinations
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) March 19, 2015 -- 2015 is turning out to be the year for travel dating to lead the way as the new trend for singles and solo travelers looking to find a companion and see the world at the same time continues to grow.
In the first quarter of 2015, many travel sites and apps including Tourbar.com, Tripr and Wingman continue to see a spike in traffic and membership. Tourbar.com, celebrating its one year anniversary, is paving the way for the travel companionship trend. The travel website and mobile app announces that over the past year, the company has seen a huge rise of over 150% in its member numbers, suggesting that the trend for finding a travel partner online is continuing to grow.
With the global online dating market now worth an estimated £2 billion,1 Tourbar.com has seen new members register in over 180 countries across the world since its launch and according to a YouGov survey, the perceptions about online dating are changing. 33% of respondents claim that online dating is part of the modern world and it is also now reported that one in four relationships begin online.
TourBar aims to match like-minded travellers in search of a companion to join them on their travels whether that be for dating, friendship or even business travel purposes. Since it launched as a website and mobile app in spring 2014, 93 different countries have already been visited by Tourbar.com members who met on the social media platform. Travels are using mobile technology to tempt those with itchy feet to find a partner and visit new destinations.
Anastasia Zolotova, TourBar’s Public Relations Manager, explained that their user numbers rocketed at the end of spring 2014. She said: “Last year, we saw our biggest rise in members between May 2014 and June 2014 suggesting that as the peak holiday period approached and people began to think of their summer holidays, they were more inclined to want to find a partner to travel with rather than travelling alone. We are sure this will also be the case this year as people start planning their summer adventures.”
Tourbar.com statistics show that both male and female members are mainly using the platform to meet friends to travel with but 16% of females claim that they are mainly using Tourbar.com to find their soul mate. Further research by Tourbar.com shows that the USA, the UAE, Spain and Italy were among the top destinations that their members were looking to visit with a new partner during the previous year.
Zolotova continued, “Since our website launched in spring, we have had a significant growth in members during each month and we fully expect to see this trend continue throughout 2015. Through our unique three-stage member verification process, our users are confident in the authenticity of our members and use our site to not only find a dating partner but also to find someone to join them on business trips. International travel is vital in the modern world and by using TourBar, we aim to open the doors and match those who are apprehensive about travelling alone with a partner to share the journey.”
