Town of Laubach, Germany Implements Mobile Alert from Hexagon Geospatial
Norcross, GA (PRWEB) July 29, 2014 -- Hexagon Geospatial announces that the town of Laubach, Germany recently implemented Mobile Alert to help gain citizen-driven insights about incidents and other damages to infrastructure.
As a mobile application for crowdsourcing incident information, Hexagon Geospatial’s Mobile Alert empowers citizens to play an active role in locating and reporting issues such as road or utility line damage. The simplified reporting process allows citizens with GPS-enabled smartphones to photograph, categorize, and submit incidents to the appropriate authorities in a few clicks.

The town is using Mobile Alert for reporting and storing data on a wide-range of incidents, such as tree and shrub cuttings, road signs, streetlights, street cleaning, and waste removal.
Located in the Gießen region of Hesse, Germany, Laubach has approximately 10,000 residents and is a tourist destination. With many historic and colorful half-timbered buildings, Laubach is also located near the Vogelsberg Mountains.
For resource-thin public works agencies, Mobile Alert offers a reliable, cost-effective means of collecting actionable data from any citizen source. Local government agencies and utility companies simply subscribe to receive the crowd-sourced information by email or through OGC web services.
