Townsend Security Announces PCI-DSS Validated Encryption and Key Management for IBM SoftLayer VMware Platforms
Olympia, WA (PRWEB) June 06, 2016 -- Today Townsend Security announced support for the IBM SoftLayer VMware initiative. Townsend Security’s Alliance Key Manager is a PCI-DSS validated encryption and key management solution for VMware platforms including vSphere and vCloud. IBM’s new partnership with VMware provides a clear cloud migration path for VMware customers and retains all of the core VMware applications and functionality. VMware customers can move their applications and infrastructure from in-house IT data centers to the IBM SoftLayer cloud and use the exact same VMware solutions to manage their applications and data.
Working with VMware and Coalfire in 2015, Townsend Security’s Alliance Key Manager achieved compliance with PCI-DSS when implemented on a standard VMware reference architecture. IBM’s partnership with VMware provides a very easy migration path to the cloud. Because customers can retain all of their current VMware management, security, and monitoring tools in the IBM SoftLayer cloud, the migration is much less difficult. However, customers discover cloud migrations can be painful when third party solution providers fail to extend support to cloud platforms. With the announcement today, Townsend Security is removing that concern for customers who are migrating to SoftLayer. Existing customers can migrate their configurations to the SoftLayer cloud, and new customers can deploy PCI validated solutions.
