TPC Training Systems Witnesses Early Success in Saudi Steel Manufacturing Project – Complete Workforce Development Plan
Buffalo Grove, IL (PRWEB) July 21, 2015 -- Shortly after implementing a full-scale training program with Saudi Arabia’s largest steel manufacturer, TPC Training Systems' exhaustive operator and technician training program has shown immediate results. Primarily, success is demonstrated when TPC's client is able to exploit veteran technicians across their multiple facilities because critical system information is now readily available to all technicians working in the field. Veteran maintenance workers, who were the sole expert source for procedural information, can now focus on critical areas while lowering the amount overtime needed to operate the plant. Additionally, technicians train on over 1,000 course hours of technical and safety core training subjects with TPC Online™. Shortly after implementing TPC’s total training solutions, the client was able to utilize its current steel production personnel resources to maximize the facility’s output.
TPC Training Systems also developed 33 TPC iSchematic modules to revamp steel making troubleshooting processes and ongoing job support. These custom built, interactive schematic applications enable maintenance technicians to better address down for failing industrial equipment. The newly adopted 33 TPC iSchematic modules give the Saudi steel producers essential tools to maintain hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical equipment across steelmaking facilities more efficiently. Each module includes validated schematics, a description of operation for each machine event, specific component related information and custom documentation.
“The large quantity of machine documentation that the client employs called for a centralized, simpler system for accessing and searching for relevant information for each maintenance procedure,” said Bobby Wood, EVP TPC Consulting. “TPC iSchematic provided an ideal job support solution for their maintenance workforce as it cuts through the clutter and places important job-relevant information directly within each machine process.”
The steelmaking maintenance technicians previously applied physical operating procedure documents to help guide maintenance and troubleshooting procedures throughout facilities that produce 5.5 million tons of steel products annually. These documents included step-by-step procedures, safety instructions and component information. Along with TPC Training Systems’ training modules, assessments, troubleshooting applications, procedural insight and equipment knowledge, TPC worked closely with the client’s subject matter experts to incorporate their established procedural documentation throughout the technician training program in order to streamline maintenance processes even further.
