Trailer Wizards Supports Fort McMurray
Mississauga, ON (PRWEB) June 01, 2016 -- Trailer Wizards Ltd. has raised donations for Red Cross in support of the Fort McMurray wildfires. Over the past month, the Trailer Wizards employees across Canada have collected donations through internal and customer events from lunches, raffles and bottle drives to donating trailers to be loaded with necessities for the people of Fort McMurray. Trailer Wizards has successfully raised over $8,500 in cash which the Vanderspek family have generously matched, resulting in just over $17,800.
“Many of us can’t imagine losing our home, businesses and the life we have built. What would we do? How would we move on? Businesses will need to re-group and re-build and thousands of residents will need to find their feet again. This is where organizations such as Red Cross help get the community back working.” Anne McKee, Chief Operating Officer of Trailer Wizards explained. “I am honoured to be working with such a generous and compassionate group of people that have supported Fort McMurray and its people when they need it most, both within our company and within the transportation industry at large. About Fort McMurray wildfires:
On May 3, 2016 Fort McMurray in Northeast Alberta was hit with a large wildfire. The wildfire resulted in the mandatory evacuation of 12 communities, home to over 100,000 residents — recorded as the largest wildfire evacuation in Canadian history. Waterways, Beacon Hill and Abasand are the primary effected areas. Even undamaged homes have been deemed unsafe due to traces of toxic substances. Red Cross is accepting donations and the Alberta Government will match all Red Cross donations.
