Gloversville, New York (PRWEB) March 19, 2015 -- Transitions, a supportive Apprenticeship program designed to advance college and career success for high school graduates and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, learning differences and medical impairments, is hosting a "Social Thinking and Transition Planning for the Adult World and Real Life" workshop presented by Dr. Pamela Crooke, PhD, CCC-SLLP of Socialthinking.com on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
The workshop focuses on helping young men and women with social learning challenges transition into adulthood and living as young adults. The program will address the world of adult work, the social emotional expectations that exist in the workplace, and what it takes to live as an independent adult. “Students with social learning challenges such as autism spectrum disorders, can be overwhelmed with the transition into adulthood,” said Shaloni Winston, founder, Transitions. “This workshop focuses on helping parents, teachers, counselors, psychologists and the students themselves prepare for and respond to this transition successfully.” For more information and to pre-register, visit http://www.transitionsusa.org/events.
