Transplant Village Will Host “Festival of Life” Fundraising Luncheon to Support Northwestern Medicine’s Comprehensive Transplant Center
Chicago, Illinois (PRWEB) September 14, 2016 -- Transplant Village, a charitable organization dedicated to furthering the efforts of Northwestern Memorial’s Comprehensive Transplant Center (CTC) and the people it serves, announces the Festival of Life Fundraising Luncheon in Chicago. The luncheon will coincide with The Magnificent Mile Lights Festival, an event that includes a parade in which Transplant Village will have a float.
Hosted at The Westin at 909 North Michigan Avenue in Chicago on November 19, 2016, from 12:00-3:00, the luncheon will feature an auction and celebrate the work and contributions of the CTC. Following the luncheon, attendees can stroll down Michigan Avenue and enjoy the Magnificent Mile Light Festivities leading up the the parade at 5:30.
“The Lights Festival is the perfect way for Chicagoans to ring in the holiday season, and the holidays are the perfect time to think of others,” commented Laurie Lee, a council member for the Northwestern Medicine Transplant Advisory Council. “With this event, we’re hoping to bring together people whose lives have been touched by the miraculous work done at the Comprehensive Transplant Center and provide them with a chance to pay their gratitude forward.”
The Festival of Life Luncheon welcomes sponsorship from both individual benefactors and corporate sponsors. All donations will be given directly to Northwestern Medicine’s Transplant Endowment. In addition, every donation will be matched by a $0.25 on the dollar donation from an anonymous donor.
“We are very hopeful that this event and others like it will help spread the word about the clinical training, life-saving procedures, and ground-breaking research being done by the Comprehensive Transplant Center. We also hope it will go a long way toward supporting those efforts in a real, measurable way,” said Dan Dickinson, Chairman of the Northwestern Medicine Transplant Advisory Council.
The luncheon is being organized by Transplant Village, an organization dedicated to supporting the efforts of the CTC and providing resources for transplant patients and their families. It will include stations of food, pizza provided Connie’s Pizza and an auction.
Following the event, luncheon attendees will be encouraged to attend the Festival of Lights Parade, in which Transplant Village has a float. The float will be dedicated to Northwestern Memorial’s transplant program and will feature organ donors, transplant recipients, and their family members waving to the crowds. You can watch the parade on the street right in front of The Westin hotel.
Dickinson noted, “The float should be incredibly inspiring to see, with all of those people personally affected by organ transplantation. They are going to be a living testament to the important work done at Northwestern Medicine’s Comprehensive Transplant Center.”
