Traverse City Tourism Releases New "From the Top" Music Video Series
Traverse City, MI (PRWEB) June 24, 2016 -- Traverse City Tourism, the official destination marketing organization for Traverse City, Michigan, is releasing a series of scenic music videos to highlight the community's wealth of musical talent.
Traverse City's music scene has been drawing regional and national attention recently, thanks to the growing reputations of home-grown performers like The Accidentals, Levi Britton and Josh Davis. But it’s now being spread through social media in a series of engaging music videos created by the town’s tourism bureau.
The new “From the Top” series features eleven performances by popular local musicians set against the blue water of West Grand Traverse Bay. The videos are being released individually, and can be viewed on the organization’s Facebook Page, You Tube Channel and website. Featured artists include the Hacky Turtles, Bob & Jessica Bolin, Nik Carmen, Jetty Rae, The Accidentals, O Brother Big Sister, Kellerville, Levi Britton, the Jimmy Olson Trio, Benjamin James, and Chloe Kime.
Traverse City Tourism’s social media manager, Coryn Briggs, said she was inspired to undertake the project by National Public Radio’s “Tiny Desk” concert series. “I thought it would be really cool to do something similar in Traverse City to showcase the beauty of the area and how it inspires our local musicians,” she said.
The concept was a simple one: to have a series of performances by different musicians, each recording a single song. Briggs and her colleagues were able to tape the series at the rooftop bar of the newly-opened Hotel Indigo Traverse City, which features a spectacular view of the town’s signature landscape of water, sky and distant hills – and an occasional appearance by the stately tall ship Manitou. Taping was done by 9&10 Creative, and the individual videos are being released one per week.
