Travis Morrow Named President of Self Storage Division of San Diego-based Strat Property Management Inc.
Irvine, California (PRWEB) October 01, 2017 -- Self storage industry veteran Travis Morrow has recently been named president of the Self Storage Division of Strat Property Management, a San Diego-based self storage operator.
Morrow’s focus will be on all aspects of the storage business, including managing the operations team, improving efficiencies wherever possible and evaluating potential development and acquisition prospects.
He previously spent 14 years with Tucson, Arizona-based National Self Storage, where he also served as the company’s president. Through an agreement between Strat and National, National’s 11-store portfolio has now been pooled with Strat’s holdings to bring the number of properties under Strat’s operation in Arizona, California, Texas, Utah and New Mexico to 66 by yearend.
Morrow met Strat Property Management CEO Don Clauson as a fellow member of the Board of Directors of Storelocal, the self storage industry's first member-owned co-op, which promotes the belief that by banding together small and medium-sized operators can set new service and operational standards for the industry.
“I have to credit our mutual participation with Storelocal for furthering our friendship and business relationship,” said Clauson. “It’s one of those intangible benefits of being associated with Storelocal.”
“We have very similar philosophies on operations and business,” Morrow said. “All small operators have realized that the things that the bigger operators are able to do are going to be out of their reach without figuring out a way to team up with other operators in the industry,” he says.
Morrow has also played an active role in the National Self Storage Association and the Arizona Self Storage Association.
“Travis has an extensive self storage background and is truly a visionary in the industry,” said Clauson. “We are fortunate to bring in someone who can take our already great operations to the next level.”
“One of the things I am excited about in joining Don is having the help of his team members,” Morrow said. “Now I get to work with a great team that can help us to do more than I was able to do on my own.”
“We are pleased that Storelocal provided the opportunity for Don and Travis to help lead our co-op and to better appreciate their respective businesses and management skills,” said Lance Watkins, CEO of Storelocal. They underscore our belief that together we are better, stronger and smarter than we are individually.”
