Triad Securities, Together with the Schultz Family, Created Richard E. Schultz Scholarship Fund at Baruch College
New York, NY (PRWEB) November 17, 2015 -- This Fall 2015, Triad Securities, together with the Schultz family, created a scholarship in memory of the founder and longtime CEO of Triad Securities, Richard E. Schultz.
The scholarship is meant to provide full tuition to a junior majoring in Finance and Investments at Schultz' Alma mater, Baruch College. Schultz graduated from Baruch in 1962 before working for several Wall Street Firms, including EF Hutton, Bear Stearns, Weisenberg, Weis Voison & Co, and Muriel Seibert.
He was acting President of Ladenberg Thalmann in the 1970s until going on to form his own brokerage firm, Triad Securities Corp., in 1976. Schultz headed Triad for 36 years before his passing in January 2012.
Richard left behind a legacy as an extremely hard worker, a trait he passed on to his whole firm, along with the ethics and responsibility of being a broker that acts in the best interest of their customers.
“The most important elements to me of my father’s legacy are to run an honest business, live by your word and look out for others, especially in these uncertain political and socioeconomic times. Richard Schultz was a mentor, a friend, and a larger-than-life personality who truly ‘Occupied Wall Street’ the right way for 45 years. My children will always remember him as grandpa, our employees will remember their beloved boss and his customers will remember a fair business partner," said Kevin Schultz, Richard’s son and Chairman, Triad Securities Corp.
The Baruch College Fund (BCF) offers a number of privately endowed or restricted scholarship funds administered by the Office of Financial Aid. These scholarships are funded by generous gifts from fellow alumni, friends, corporations and nonprofit foundations.
Overall, BCF distributes over $1 million in scholarships to over 350 Baruch students each year. These scholarships are designed to reward, encourage, and assist students in pursuing academic excellence and leadership roles in the future.
"I just wish the rest of the world could have known him and seen that there are people on Wall Street that don’t just greedily chase success but instead do business the right way and generously help others along the way. Thank you Dad for showing me how to be a boss and good person,” finished Kevin Schultz.
The Baruch College Fund will run through 2021. For more information regarding the scholarship please contact Angela Camacho at angela(dot)camacho(at)baruch(dot)cuny(dot)edu or visit: Baruch College Fund at: http://goo.gl/ZpPtIL.
